More about Garthorpe Racecourse
Garthorpe is on the B676 just east of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.
The course is owned by the Tollemache family and forms part of the Buckminster Estate, to whom we are very grateful. It hosts four meetings each season starting with the Melton Hunt Club meeting in early February and finishing with the Quorn meeting at the end of April. There is no longer a Meynell & South Staffs meeting in June.
Garthorpe is one of the very few courses in the country with its own permanent irrigation system which enables the course to water with the need for bowsers in times of low rainfall.
