Gold Cup star to race at Brocklesby Point-To-Point

Hennessy Gold Cup winner Carruthers will race in the Mixed Open Race at Brocklesby Park this Sunday, part of the Brocklesby Hunt's Point-To-Point meeting.

The thirteen-year-old half-brother of Cheltenham Gold Cup Winner Coneygree, owned by the Oaksey Partnership, will race in the DDM Agriculture Mixed Open Race, ridden by Lord Oaksey's granddaughter Lily Bradstock. Carruthers won the Ultima Business Solutions Silver Jubilee Handicap Chase at Newbury last March, under Nico de Boinville, but has been Point-to-Point racing this season with 20-year-old Lily on board.

There are seven races on the card at Brocklesby Park on Sunday, with the first race starting at 12 noon. Carruthers in entered for the third race, with other featured races including the Connolly's Red Mills Intermediate Race; The 9-year-olds and over Conditions race and the Nunns Mitsubishi and Jockey Club Open Maiden Race for Mares and Fillies, all of which are part of National Series.

As ever, there will be food, drink, betting and lots of entertainment there on the day so come along to support this important local event.

Tickets for the day's racing at Brocklesby Park are £10 per person on the day, but e-tickets are also available in advance from the event's website - https://www.midlandspointing.com/fixtures/brocklesby/ - and include a complimentary racecard.

Brocklesby Park is situated just off the A180, west of Grimsby. The venue's postcode is DN41 8FB.
