Jones rewarded at sell-out Midlands Awards dinner
Long-serving Point-to-Point videographers David and Barbara Jones were presented with the Mark Ashton Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to Midlands area Point-to-Point racing at the region's annual awards evening at Shearsby Bath on 26th September.
The dinner was brilliantly organised by PPORA Representative Tik Saunders and very kindly sponsored by Mark and Pat Barthorpe to whom the association send many thanks.
The success of the sell-out awards evening was a reflection of the strength and popularity of Point-to-Point racing in the Midlands this season, where there has been a significant increase in the number of Hunter Certificates issued.
Kelly Morgan capped a very successful season by taking the awards for both Leading Lady Rider and Leading Novice Rider, Lottie Crane was runner-up in both categories.
The Leading Gentleman and Leading Rider titles went to Tom Strawson, with Johnny Bailey in second.
Roger Jackson's GONALSTON CLOUD was the season's Leading Horse, with John Chatfeild Roberts SHES REAL winning the award for Leading Mare.
