Midlands Pointing Announce a New Course
SOUTH WOLD POINT TO POINT RETURNS HOME TO REVESBY
The Landowners of the Revesby Estate, the Wiggins-Davis family, have invited the South Wold Hunt, to hold their Point-to-Point, in an idyllic parkland setting. Located in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, it’s one of the country’s larger estates, and rests between the sea and the historic city of Lincoln. The Wiggins-Davis family have owned the estate for over 300 years. It will be 40 years in 2017, since the South Wold last held their Point-to-Point on the magnificent sporting estate. The Point-to-Point course is being resurrected for South Wold's March fixture.
In recent years, the South Wold have held the Point-to-Point on the Earl of Yarborough's, Brocklesby Park Estate, in North Lincolnshire. The South Wold, Point-to-Point Chairman, Mark Barthorpe, said "This is an exciting opportunity to bring the South Wold fixture back to its own country, and one we wish to embrace. I'd like to take this opportunity of thanking Lord Yarborough, for providing us with so many years of support, which has enabled us to promote the sport and the Hunt"
The Midlands Area Chairman, Gerald Bailey, said “We are delighted that the South Wold are returning home to Revesby, and to have a new course in the area for 2017, sends out a positive message for the sport of Point-to-Pointing”
The course will run right-handed, on old parkland turf, slightly undulating, with a steady uphill finish.
