Revesby Races 7th Nov - Preview
The Midlands Area 2021-2022 Point-to-Point season starts much earlier than usual next weekend with the Revesby Races meeting - Revesby Park, Revesby, Boston, Lincs, PE22 7NB – what3words address ///diplomats.comet.resettle.
The event will be live streamed again and will be free to view with We Stream Events via YouTube. The presenters will be Ben Atkins, Johnny Bailey and James Gray from the podcast Pointing Pointers and streaming will begin at 11am.
There are 46 entries across the seven-race card and the going at Revesby at the time of writing is reported as good across the whole course.
The Intermediate race kicks off the new season and of the four entries the top-rated horse is the American-bred gelding French Piece who carries a five pound penalty. Annabelle Sowray's Manicman finished alone last time out at Hornby Castle, while both the other horses entered, Clondaw Bunny and Name and Shame were pulled up in their most recent races.
Ten horses come forward for the Maiden race where Forest Chimes, second in his last two starts, hope to go one better. Up against them are seven horses coming to points from racing under rules. Ones to watch could be Alan Hill-trained Tres Francais and Imperial Imp from the Annabelle Sowray yard. Feuille De Lune and Imperial Imp also have entries in the Fourth race, the Maiden Conditions, so may run there instead.
Nine-year-old Cousin Pascal and James King may start as favourites for the Mixed Open race, next, having won their last two starts in hunter chases. Competition will likely come from Salvatore, the Philip Rowley-trained mount of Ben Bromley, another very successful hunter/pointer. Cherry Coward-trained Game As A Pheasant is a capable challenger and George Chatterton has the ride on Vinnie Lewis which is trained by Leicestershire trainer Kelly Morgan. Making the long trip from the Lauderdale country is Hannh McMahon's Wonderoftheworld.
Aracaris and When I’m Ready (T. McClorey) join Feuille De Lune (Miss A. Stevens) and Imperial Imp (Joe Wright) in the Maiden Conditions race which starts at 1.45pm. This race is for maidens who have run in two or more point-to-point races, including flat races.
The Restricted Race has six varied entries with half the field making their pointing debut. Gina Andrews rides Ballymac Boy for Tom Ellis, while Luke Humphrey has the ride on his own Cave Queen, and Cherry Coward brings Cool Desire, owned by the Nellis Family. Alongside these are Calypso Storm (Miss J. I. Bedi) and Multifactorial (H. Arkwright), previously raced under rules. Joseph O'Shea brings Envious Editor (Miss A. Stevens) from his Shropshire yard so one has to think it has a good chance.
Prolific pointers and hunter chasers Clondaw Westie and Thumb Stone Blues lead the market for the Veteran Horse Conditions Race which is the penultimate on the card. Vinnie Lewis has an entry here but would carry a penalty which would not be needed in the Mixed Open. Early Retirement and Trainwreck provide some of the competition in a classy field of eleven horses.
Finally, a flat race for four and five year-old horses completes the day’s racing. Three horses are entered for this one, Bourne To Dance, Foxcote and Santos Blue, all making their racecourse debuts.
We look forward to seeing you in Lincolnshire this weekend and will update our social media with any changes of going between now and the weekend.
